And Finally a note about collections at the Extraordinary Form Mass and Gift Aid.  The great generosity of visitors to the Extraordinary Form Mass has been noted.  On the afternoon of 3rd November, it will be possible to obtain gift aid forms for those eligible or who would like to take advantage of this.  It means that the parish will be able to benefit even more and  claim back the tax that is paid on the donation.  If you would like to take advantage of this, please contact Paul Relf on the day,  who will be able to give you the required form.

Holy Mass on 13th October - 18th Sunday after Pentecost

Sunday 13th October 2019

Holy Mass will take place on 13th October 2019 at 4 p.m.,  transferred from its usual first Sunday of the month,

This day will mark Corey's first anniversary, and Holy Mass will be said for Corey on this occasion.

There will be tea and coffee in the Sacred Heart centre after Mass , and confession will be available before Holy Mass.

The propers for the Mass can be found here

A short sermon for the 18th Sunday after Pentecost in the Extraordinary Form can be seen by clicking on this link

Sunday 13th October is also the 102nd anniversary of the miracle of the Sun at Fatima. Many gathered on that date in Fatima in response t the prophecy of the three shepherd children that the Virgin Mary would appear on that date and perform miracles.  Many who attended reported extraordinary solar activity such as the Sun appearing to dance in the sky.  These events reportedly lasted about 10 minutes. Bishop Jose de Silva declared the miracle worthy of belief in 1930 permitting officially the cult of Our Lady of Fatima.

In the spirit of Fatima and to pray for those who are close to death and for those who have died,  let us fervently pray the following prayer.  And we pray for the repose of the soul of Corey on this particular day,

"O My Jesus, forgive us our sins,  save us from the fires of hell,  lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of your mercy"
