Many Thanks to those who attended Holy Mass on Corpus Christi, and to those who assisted with the serving and the choir. Particular thanks go to Andrew, Liam and Patrick from the Diocese of Cardiff for giving up their time to travel to the Mass and lead the serving.
As part of the celebration, Father had constructed three outside altars, at which the procession paused while hymns were sung and prayers were recited. Special thanks to Father for preparing this beautiful celebration.
During his homily, Father spoke about the institution of the Feast of Corpus Christi. Though the Eucharist was instituted on Maundy Thursday at the Last Supper, we are given this special feast so that the real presence in the Blessed Sacrament can be celebrated without the sadness associated with Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. The feasts importance in having its own octave in the traditional calendar was mentioned.
The celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi has become an annual event in the Diocese of Menevia and indeed it was the only Missa Cantata to be celebrated on this occasion within the whole of Wales.
