SUPPORT THE LATIN MASS IN YOUR DIOCESE!

Here, in Wales especially, even the most minor of parish priest moves can have a disastrous effect on the continuing provision of the EF Mass.

In addition, our priests are under great pressure in fulfilling their pastoral duties and we need to show  them just how much we value their work and need the Latin Mass.

We may do this, first and foremost, by attending as many of the Masses as possible.

And then we need to make our friends and relatives aware that the Masses are taking place.

Finally, we need to show willing by supporting our priest in the physical side of preparing for the Mass; possibly a rota could be organised of people willing to arrange and dress the altar.

Please give this matter some thought and let's discuss, after Mass, what we can do to keep the Mass of Ages alive and well.

Masses for the next few months are rather few and far between due to holidays and cover but, so far, the following Masses will be held:-

SATURDAY 2ND AUGUST - VIGIL MASS AT 5PM THE SACRED HEART, MORRISTON.

FRIDAY 15TH AUGUST - FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION - 12 NOON LOW MASS AT THE SACRED HEART, MORRISTON.

Keep the Faith !

Spread the Faith!

And remember to support the Traditional Latin Mass and the priests who say it..

Menevia Latin Masses for the next two weeks

Next Sunday's EF Mass, 27th April, will be at 12 noon at St Joseph's Cathedral, Swansea.

The following Saturday (3rd May) Mass will be 5pm at The Church of The Sacred Heart, Morriston, near Swansea and there will be the crowning of the May Queen in honour of Our Lady whose month it is.

There is no EF Mass the weekend of 10th May.

This is the image of our Queen
Who reigns in Heaven above;
Of her who is the hope of men,
Whom men and angels love!
Most holy Mary!

This homage offered at the feet
                                                                Of Mary's image here
To Mary's self at once ascends
Above the starry sphere.
Most holy Mary!

How fair soever be the form
                                                           Which here your eyes behold,
Its beauty is by Mary's self
Excell'd a thousandfold.
Most holy Mary!

                                                          Sweet are the flow'rets we have culled
This image to adorn;
But sweeter far is Mary's self,

That rose without a thorn!

Most holy Mary!

Palm Sunday - April 13th

Missa Cantata at 3pm at The Sacred Heart Church, Morriston - blessing and distribution of palms.

When fishes flew and forests walked
   And figs grew upon thorn,
Some moment when the moon was blood
   Then surely I was born.

With monstrous head and sickening cry
   And ears like errant wings,
The devil’s walking parody
   On all four-footed things.

The tattered outlaw of the earth,
   Of ancient crooked will;
Starve, scourge, deride me: I am dumb,
   I keep my secret still.

Fools! For I also had my hour;
   One far fierce hour and sweet:
There was a shout about my ears,
   And palms before my feet.

Latin Mass on Sunday 24th November...

...will be at St Joseph's Cathedral, Swansea at 12 noon.

And, the following Sunday, 1st December is the First Sunday of Advent.
There will be a Missa Cantata at The Sacred Heart, Morriston at 3pm

A few words on Advent from The Fisheaters website:

The focus of Advent is preparation for the coming of the Lord -- both in commemoration of His Nativity and His coming again at the end of time. Though most Protestants -- and far too many Catholics -- see this time of year as a part of the "Christmas Season," it isn't; the Christmas season does not begin until the first Mass at Christmas Eve, and doesn't end liturgically until the Octave of the Epiphany on January 14. It goes on in the spiritual sense until Candlemas on February 2, when all celebrations of Christ's Childhood give way to Septuagesima and Lent.

The mood of this season is one of sombre spiritual preparation that increases in joy with each day, and the gaudy "Christmas" commercialism that surrounds it in the Western world should be overcome as much as possible. The singing of Christmas carols (which comes earlier and earlier each year), the talk of "Christmas" as a present reality, the decorated trees and the parties -- these things are "out of season" for Catholics; we should strive to keep the Seasons of Advent holy and penitential, always remembering, as they say, that "He is the reason for the Season."

Mass in the Extraordinary Form (22nd Sunday after Pentecost) will be at the Sacred Heart, Morriston at 3pm (Rosary at 2.45pm)

St Therese de Lisieux - Patron Saint of the Missions

A MORNING PRAYER WRITTEN BY ST. THERESE

O my God! I offer Thee all my actions of this day for the intentions and for the glory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
 I desire to sanctify every beat of my heart, my every thought, my simplest works, by uniting them to Its infinite merits; and I wish to make reparation for my sins by casting them into the furnace of Its Merciful Love.
O my God! I ask of Thee for myself and for those whom I hold dear, the grace to fulfill perfectly Thy Holy Will, to accept for love of Thee the joys and sorrows of this passing life, so that we may one day be united together in heaven for all Eternity.
