Our Lady of Cardigan - Ora pro nobis!

Menevia Latin Masses for the next two weeks

Next Sunday's EF Mass, 27th April, will be at 12 noon at St Joseph's Cathedral, Swansea.

The following Saturday (3rd May) Mass will be 5pm at The Church of The Sacred Heart, Morriston, near Swansea and there will be the crowning of the May Queen in honour of Our Lady whose month it is.

There is no EF Mass the weekend of 10th May.

This is the image of our Queen

Who reigns in Heaven above;

Of her who is the hope of men,

Whom men and angels love!

Most holy Mary!

This homage offered at the feet

                                                                Of Mary's image here

To Mary's self at once ascends

Above the starry sphere.

Most holy Mary!

How fair soever be the form

                                                           Which here your eyes behold,

Its beauty is by Mary's self

Excell'd a thousandfold.

Most holy Mary!

                                                          Sweet are the flow'rets we have culled

This image to adorn;

But sweeter far is Mary's self,

That rose without a thorn!

Most holy Mary!

Stabat Mater

"Make me feel as thou hast felt;
make my soul to glow and melt
with the love of Christ my Lord.

Let me share with thee His pain,
who for all my sins was slain,
who for me in torments died.

Let me mingle tears with thee,
mourning Him who mourned for me,
all the days that I may live."

Christ in the tomb - Church of The Sacred Heart, Morriston

Palm Sunday - April 13th

Missa Cantata at 3pm at The Sacred Heart Church, Morriston - blessing and distribution of palms.

When fishes flew and forests walked

   And figs grew upon thorn,

Some moment when the moon was blood

   Then surely I was born.

With monstrous head and sickening cry

   And ears like errant wings,

The devil’s walking parody

   On all four-footed things.

The tattered outlaw of the earth,

   Of ancient crooked will;

Starve, scourge, deride me: I am dumb,

   I keep my secret still.

Fools! For I also had my hour;

   One far fierce hour and sweet:

There was a shout about my ears,

   And palms before my feet.
